Between January 16-18, 2023, Matej Bell University in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia will organize an intensive course for teachers.
The title of the course is "Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and elements of statistics. Practical examples". The course will be followed by hands-on demonstrations of how AI algorithms can be applied to pollution-related databases to make a range of predictions.
Ten teachers from Turkey (2), Slovakia (2), Bulgaria (3) and Romania (3) will participate in this intensive course, learning about how these algorithmic models could be applied in education and research. Three teaching staff from the Faculty of Science will participate from the University of Craiova.
The aim of the course is to improve the skills of teachers related to Al and to appreciate the ability of these algorithmic models to make predictions, recommendations, to make decisions that influence real or virtual environments. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss with colleagues from partner universities, to analyze opportunities to collaborate on inter- and multi-disciplinary projects.

During December 4-5, 2023, the project implementation team from the University of Craiova will organize a transnational meeting named „Microcontrollers in electronic devices.” It is the last meeting from a series of four. The team will discuss how helpful the microcontrollers are in making sensors during laboratory activities. These sensors might provide later datasets that can be used in research.
During this meeting, the project implementation team aims to discuss the current situation of each project result, what documents each partner should make for the final report, and investigate other new opportunities for cooperation. At this moment, three results have been published (a book „New teaching and learning methods for the post-pandemic time,” a handbook „Curriculum, and a handbook "Advanced technologies to process Big Data,” „Kit of Sensors and a detailed description of the lab activities that can be made with those sensors”) and two papers was accepted for publication (presented to the TIM22 Physics Conference, „Using advanced technologies to process data given by a network of sensors”). Three other articles were prepared and submitted. None of them have been published until this moment. All courses for students (two summer schools) and academics (three courses) were given to the target group. Also, three transnational meetings and two multiplier events were organized. During December 2023 and January 2024, Slovakia and Turkey will organize the last two multiplier events.

Between November 7 and 9, 2022, at the Türkeş Alparslan University of Science and Technology in Adana (Turkey), an intensive course for teachers with the theme "Introduction to Machine Learning (ML)" will be organized. The course will be followed by a practical demonstration of how ML algorithms are used to model the radiation emitted by green energy sources. The course is organized within the Erasmus+ project "Application of advanced technologies in teaching and research, in the field of air pollution".
Ten teachers from Turkey, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Romania participate in this intensive course, learning how Machine Learning algorithms can be applied on open source databases to find correlations between the various parameters provided by the databases and make predictions about the evolution of some phenomena and processes. From the University of Craiova, three teaching staff from the Faculty of Sciences are participating.
Between November 10 and 11, 2022, a trans-disciplinary meeting will be organized with the title "Analysis of databases with the help of Machine Learning algorithms" in which the project team participates and aims to share the experience of the intensive course and outline the curriculum of the course "Advanced technologies in processing databases (Big data)", a course that will be implemented during the sustainability period in all four partner universities.
